As a Credits Representative II, you will help the Credits Department by reviewing and resolving outstanding credit balances within the established processes and compliance guidelines. To thrive in this role, you must effectively manage credit balance workloads and responsibilities, and follow up on external and internal inquires in a timely manner. This position maintains consistent productivity (at least 36 accounts per day) and quality of work in a challenging, fast paced and rapidly changing environment. The representative must be able to work in a high volume, fast paced work environment and meet deadlines. The representative should have experience using Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, internet and e-mail, and demonstrate typing proficiency. The representative should have experience working effectively in time sensitive situations, multi-tasking and making prompt, responsible decisions. Lastly, the representative should have experience in a role that requires strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills and should have the ability to work independently and under pressure with minimal supervision and have excellent organizational skills. This position is responsible for identifying overpayments and submitting corrected claims or refunds to the appropriate payer to ensure that Ascension Healthcare meets regulation requirements.
The representative will work 40 hours a week. This is a remote role. The representative will need to pass a background check and drug screen.
Here is what you will experience working as a Credits Representative I:
- Timely and accurately resolving credit balances
- Processing internal and external refund requests
- Identifying trends and escalate where appropriate
- Maintaining accurate, clear, concise and complete account notes and other relevant information
- Closely adhering to set schedules and handling time standards
- Maintaining confidentiality of all patient demographic, medical, and financial information, ensuring proper handling and disposal of confidential documents and adhering to HIPAA
- Complying with all applicable Federal, State, local laws, and regulations
- Responding to requests for information and resolve accounting discrepancies
- Resolving unidentified payments through research
- Ensuring all computer system entries are completed accurately and timely
- Completing annual mandatory education review and competency programs
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1 year healthcare hospital revenue cycle experience
- Experience using Microsoft Office
For this US-based position, the base pay range is $15.66 - $23.45 per hour .
