Risk and Safety Analyst

JOB SUMMARY:
The Risk and Safety Analyst supports the GMR Risk Management Department regarding all aspects of corporate insurance and claims management oversight. Works to gather, analyze, and report data from GMR’s Third Party Administrators (TPA’s), insurance companies, actuaries and insurance brokers. Supports GMR Operations in providing necessary insurance information and contract review. Compiles underwriting information for insurance renewals, helps to ensure that all new claims and suits are reported in a timely manner, and assists with loss forecasting and analysis.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Assist in coordinating placement and administration of GMR’s insurance program. Activities include analyzing underwriting information for accuracy and timely completion of applications.
- Distribution of Vehicle ID cards and Certificates of Insurance
- Process requests for insurance certificates from third parties
- Assist the field / broker and others on Surety process such as increases, decreases, name changes and other such surety related functions including follow up and documentation.
- Manage surety bond program including transactions, issuance, cancellation, and/or amendments when required
- Work with Broker to assure distribution at renewal of all certificates of insurance.
- Participate in internal and external audits
- Assist with maintaining TPA location structures
- Preparing internal and external claims reports to support accounting/finance, operations, executive management and actuarial analysis
- Manage the invoicing process which including coding, tracking and filing.
- Develop and continuously update processes/procedures to support assigned activities.
- Audit insurance premium payments and assist with invoicing/billing from insurers and brokers.
- Assist with insurance provider inspections, audits, or other compliance activities as necessary.
- Handle technical inquiries and requests from business, as well as provide guidance.
- Create and maintain historical risk exposure schedules for GMR’s property and liability programs.
- Assist in management of various monopolistic State Self-Insured and State Fund programs
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES PREFERRED:
- Five (5) or more years of risk analyst or related experience
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Demonstrated ability to design and manipulate data in common analytical software platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
- Should demonstrate initiative and problem solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, written, organization, analytical and presentation skills.
