The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
Position Summary
Reporting to the Department Administrator, the Administrative Assistant for EM Outreach & Leadership, works closely and collaboratively with the Department Administrator and faculty leadership to support and improve administrative and outreach operational functions within the Department of Emergency Medicine.
Principal Responsibilities
EM Outreach:
• Collaborates with the Senior Director of Social EM and Health Equity to facilitate and support departmental outreach initiatives including MAPP to CU.
• Manages calendars, including scheduling appointments, meetings, and conferences.
• Coordinates and disseminates communications to promote Social EM and Health Equity events within the department and the CUIMC community, and provide event support.
• Effectively communicates with providers and leadership in a timely, sensitive, and confident manner.
• Serves as a liaison between internal and external administrative staff, departments, and vendors.
• Works collaboratively with the Department’s finance team and interface with NYP or CUMC accounts payable or purchasing departments as needed.
Administrative:
• Offers advanced administrative support and aid to the Department Administrator.
• Independently resolves issues, drafts correspondence, coordinates information gathering and manages special projects with sound judgment in prioritization.
• Manages calendars, scheduling appointments, meetings, and conferences efficiently.
• Screens emails and mail as requested, and handles or redirects contacts and communications that do not necessitate immediate personal attention from the Department Administrator.
• Handles communication to and from the Administrator's office and oversee their schedule efficiently.
• Provides precise responses to inquiries and ensure appropriate follow-up.
• Organizes and oversee projects of considerable size and scope for the Administrator's office, which may involve independently managing Department-wide programs and initiatives.
• Provides cross-coverage for other administrative staff as needed.
• Fulfill additional duties as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in experience with at least three years of relevant administrative experience.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.

• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
• Extensive knowledge of office administration, clerical procedures, and recordkeeping systems.
• Extremely proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software with the ability to learn new or updated software.
