Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. This role is for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and wants to leverage their accounting expertise and make a big impact at a fast-growing company. In this critical role you will support timely and accurate month-end closings, financial reporting and variance analysis, as well as manage complex financial data and contribute to financial planning and budgeting.
LOCATION: Waltham, MA (Hybrid, 3 to 4 days per week on-site, 1 to 2 days remote)
Primary Responsibilities:
- Prepare and post journal entries, detail balance sheet account reconciliations ensuring accurate financial reporting.
- Assist with month and year-end close processes, including accruals and adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal company policies.
- Monitor and analyze accounting data to identify trends, variances or areas for improvement.
- Support the preparation of internal and external financial reports.
- Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with audits by providing documentation and responding to inquiries.
- Supporting budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning processes.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting with a minimum of 3 years of experience, preferably within CPG, food & beverage, manufacturing, or inventory-heavy business.
- Demonstrated experience with tight month-end closings and variance analysis to support decision-making.
- Ability to streamline accounting operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively partner with internal teams and external partners.
- Experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (complex formulas, pivot tables, analytical review)
