The Opportunity
Nuovo Artistic Studios is searching for a visionary and experienced Head of Makeup Artistry to lead our elite team of makeup artists and hairstylists across all our studio locations. What You'll Do
As the Head of Makeup Artistry, your core responsibilities will include:
Artistic Leadership & Poise
- Lead by example, inspiring your team to achieve the highest standards of professionalism, artistry, and poise.
- Craft personalized, high-end makeup and hairstyling looks that align with each guest's unique vision and enhance their natural beauty, fostering confidence and self-expression.
- Apply your advanced skills in makeup application and hairstyling, staying current with the latest trends and techniques to deliver exceptional results across a diverse range of looks.
- Serve as a public face for Nuovo Artistic Studios. This includes being featured in promotional materials, training content, and social media posts. You'll also be expected to maintain your own professional social media accounts to showcase your work and represent the brand.
Team Management & Development
- Manage, mentor, and motivate a large team of talented makeup artists and hairstylists, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment across all locations.
- Develop and implement comprehensive training programs to ensure consistency in artistry and guest experience across all studios.
- Provide ongoing coaching and constructive feedback to enhance team skills and professional growth.
- Handle all artist-related HR tasks, including performance reviews, disciplinary actions, and career development plans.
Operational Management
- Manage all scheduling and vacation requests for the artist team, ensuring optimal coverage and smooth daily operations.
- Maintain a high level of communication with studio managers to ensure seamless integration of artistic and operational processes.
- Oversee inventory management for all beauty products and tools, ensuring studios are well-stocked and resources are allocated efficiently.
- Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and organization for all beauty products, tools, and workstations across all locations.
Guest Experience Excellence
- Ensure every guest receives a luxurious and pampering experience, feeling comfortable, valued, and radiant throughout their session.
- Adapt to diverse client needs and preferences, from natural elegance to glamorous transformations, with versatility and precision.
Who You Are
You are an inspiring leader and a highly skilled artist with a genuine passion for beauty artistry and a desire to empower individuals through your craft. You are exceptionally organized and thrive in a fast-paced, high-end environment. You can manage a large team across multiple locations and have a deep understanding of what it takes to scale a team without sacrificing quality.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- MUST be a certified Cosmetologist or Esthetician by the State of New York.
- Proven experience as a professional makeup artist and hairstylist, with a strong, diverse portfolio showcasing your advanced skills.
- Demonstrable experience in a senior leadership or managerial role, with a proven track record of managing a large team of artists or similar creative professionals.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a warm, empathetic demeanor and the ability to maintain composure and professionalism under pressure.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering flawless results.
- Ability to understand and translate client visions into stunning beauty looks.
- Prepared for long hours and physical activity.
