POSITION OVERVIEW
The Legal Assistant will be an integral part of the Kate Farms legal team, providing essential support to the General Counsel and the broader legal department. This role involves managing legal documentation, facilitating communication, and ensuring the smooth operation of legal processes. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of handling multiple tasks efficiently.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
· Perform Intake on Incoming Legal Requests: Serve as the initial point of contact for legal inquiries and requests. Assess and prioritize requests to ensure timely and appropriate responses.
· Legal Tracker & Carta: Manage our e-billing software, Legal Tracker. Support the management and administration of equity-related matters using Carta software.
· Executive Assistant to the General Counsel: Provide comprehensive administrative support to the General Counsel, including scheduling, correspondence, and meeting preparation.
· General Support to the Legal Team: Offer administrative and logistical support to the legal team, facilitating collaboration and communication within the department.
· Implement and Develop Legal Department Procedures: Assist in the creation and refinement of procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the legal department.
· Create Presentations and Communications: Develop and prepare presentations, reports, and other communications to support legal initiatives and convey information effectively.
· Perform Other Administrative Tasks: Execute various administrative duties as needed to support the legal team and contribute to the overall success of the department.
WE ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO
· Education: Minimum, requirement: An undergraduate degree.
· Experience: 1 to 4 years of relevant legal department experience (ideally in the life sciences).
· Skills: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, proficiency in legal software (Legal Tracker, Carta, and DocuSign) and Microsoft Office Suite, excellent communication abilities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
· Has top-notch grammar, proof-reading skills, and superb time-management.
· Has demonstrated technology skills and an ability to learn new systems; and
· Can successfully manage competing priorities on a wide range of issues and projects, while delivering quality work.
· Will have a strong commitment to the Kate Farms mission and values.
· Can work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced dynamic environment.

This position will work in a corporate office with the potential flexibility of working from a home/office environment part of the week.

Compensation for this role is in the form of base salary plus a variable component that together comprise the On-Target-Earnings (OTE). Some positions may include additional compensation in the form of equity.
The typical starting salary range for new hires in this role is listed below. This range represents the lowest to highest salary range we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. Please note that base pay offered may vary depending on factors including your geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors. All job offers are contingent upon successful completion of background verification.
$26.00 - $34.00 per hour USD
For full-time salaried or hourly workers, our total rewards package also include the option to enroll in a company-matched 401k plan, as well as participate in Company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employee’s eligible dependents. Employees will also receive a generous PTO benefit with a starting accrual of 15 days per year (prorated upon hire and increased by tenure), two weeks of paid “Refresh” leave, 80 hours of paid sick leave annually, and 11 paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
