Engineer II
What you will do

In this vital role you will work within a cross-functional organization to ensure successful and efficient onboarding and adoption of Digital capabilities for various Amgen business groups. The successful candidate will work with user groups to thoroughly research and document data models and logical architectures on the PLM platform and support as a Data Stewardship SME the different Product teams working on the various PLM modules in a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). The candidate will work with the vendor to identify and drive enhancements to ensure a consistent and reliable data model that enables efficient and streamlined extraction for downstream consumption. Additionally, the candidate will support business leads with successful adoption of the capabilities within their groups and ensure maintenance of the data pipelines and analytics utilized.
Research and document data models and logical architectures for ongoing and upcoming capability workstreams within the PLM Platform.
Provide Digital and Data expertise for the different product teams to ensure consistent data model and FAIR (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable & Reusable) data design across the various capabilities implemented.
Identify improvements required to data and attribute models and drive engagement with internal and external stakeholders (incl. software vendor) to obtain enhancements
Standardize and drive consistent data and attribute model design and processes across the different product teams
Leverage reference data effectively to enhance the accuracy and depth of data analytics, providing more robust and insightful analytical outcomes.
Execute complex data queries to extract, clean, and manipulate data from various sources, ensuring the data is usable for detailed analysis and reporting.
Escalate issues/requests to PLM Product Management as necessary
Support planning, development and delivery of appropriate training content to relevant user groups

Basic Qualifications:
High school diploma / GED and 8 years of Engineering experience; OR
Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of Engineering experience; Or
Associate’s degree and 6 years of Engineering experience; Or
Master’s degree
Preferred Qualifications:
Degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related fields.
Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills - ability to distill, craft and present key messages relative to diverse audience requirements.
Demonstrated ability to work in a highly matrixed team environment.
Demonstrated experience with deployment and roll-out of Enterprise Digital Tools and related Technologies
Demonstrated capability to influence and drive change with impacted stakeholders.
Experience driving transformation, user onboarding and organizational change management in a global organization is a plus.
Intellectual curiosity with ability to learn new concepts/frameworks and technology rapidly as needs arise and apply into improvements in Data Engineering and Analytics for users
Ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
Ability to take initiative and deliver consistently in highly collaborative, cross-functional environments
Strong problem solving, trouble shooting, and communication skills
Experience with Agile Software development processes is a plus

The expected annual salary range for this role in the U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) is posted. Actual salary will vary based on several factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
