Job Description:
The Office of Enrollment Compliance & Design (OECD) reports to the Office of the Vice Provost for Enrollment and manages the division of enrollment’s collaborative, cross-functional, and enterprise response to the requirements of our regulating bodies, governing structures, and division goals. The Office coordinates with administrative and academic units, departments, colleges, and schools to facilitate compliant and student-centered processes, procedures, and controls to support our work as stewards of academic, financial, and student information. The Office connects teams focused on policy development, quality assurance, and project and process management to identify and prioritize risks and initiate and facilitate projects and programs to improve institutional administrative capability.
The Opportunity
The Compliance Associate for Graduate and Professional Enrollment is a member of the Compliance Team for the Office of Enrollment Compliance and Design, reports to the Associate Vice Provost for Enrollment, and plays a lead role in the execution of establishing critical enrollment compliance fundamentals for regulated areas, such as the principles and standards established by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, requirements to participate in Title IV federal financial aid programs and to administer Veterans Benefits, across all enrollment functions – admissions, financial aid, and registrar – alongside our partners in those areas, across the Ithaca, Tech and Weill locations.
The Compliance Associate will partner closely with compliance and functional teams working in the areas of admissions, financial aid, and registrar, centrally and across all colleges, schools and locations (Ithaca, Tech, and Weill) in addition to campus partners and leaders to develop and implement a sustainable compliance framework for regulated areas across graduate and professional functions for the Ithaca, Tech and Weill locations. Responsibilities include:
Work with enrollment staff and University leadership to document Responsible Executives and Program Ownership for regulated areas of enrollment.
In consultation with unit leads and in consideration of industry best practices, establish consistent internal policy and procedure standards.
Develop and provide policy and procedure templates and internal control documentation templates for use across functions.
Outline policies, identify policy gaps, and work with leadership to develop plans for gap closure.
Work with enrollment functional leads to develop and implement training materials to accompany policy and procedural documentation.
Develop compliance training content for future use in various formats – recorded, on-demand content; live, large-group zoom sessions; in-person trainings, large and small, etc.
Guide graduate and professional enrollment professionals in understanding audit requirements, documenting in preparation for audits, and developing and implementing internal monitoring in alignment with audit requirements.
Coordinate enrollment risk assessments designed by the University Compliance Office for graduate and professional enrollment areas.
Develop and provide guidance documents for reporting incidents and issues.

This is a two-year fixed term position with possibility of renewal contingent on available funding, available work and successful performance. The position will be considered for a fully remote work location within the United States, with occasional travel to campus. What We Need:

Bachelor's degree with at least 6 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience within the field of higher education or compliance and quality management.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a team involving multiple Enrollment and university constituencies in a high-visibility environment.
Ability to interface professionally with faculty, staff, and senior university administrators in connection with the development of compliance frameworks.
Understanding of compliance management and experience working with multiple partners to bring new ideas to life in a sustainable way.
Experience developing and delivering presentations to diverse audiences on subjects including regulatory requirements and compliance best practices.
Effective time-management and collaborative interpersonal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and productively, think critically and exercise sound professional judgment, work efficiently within established timelines, set personal goals, and maximize personal and team performance.
Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing.
Experience working directly with people from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds and perspectives.
