HONK is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Security Analyst to take primary responsibility for our organization's day-to-day cybersecurity operations and drive continuous improvements in our security program. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in protecting our computer networks and systems from cyber threats, implementing enhancements to our security policies and systems, and educating the wider organization on security best practices and emerging threats. Additionally, they will collaborate with our engineering team to support secure software development practices.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the continuous monitoring of security systems and networks Regularly assess the effectiveness of current security measures, identify gaps and research and propose new security technologies and methodologies.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for security-related issues and initiatives
- Act as the primary security evangelist within the organization, conduct regular security training sessions, workshops, and simulations (e.g., phishing exercises)
- Represent the engineering team’s from a security point of view in team in cross-functional projects and initiatives
- Assist in security reviews of software designs and architectures when requested
- Stay informed about application security trends and communicate relevant updates to the engineering team
Preferred Experience
- 3+ years of experience in a cyber security or related role
- Proven experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, security technologies, and best practices
- Familiarity with security information and event management (SIEM) tools
- Experience with vulnerability assessment and penetration testing tools
- Understanding of regulatory compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI-DSS)
$100,000 - $140,000 a year
