The Technical Program Manager (TPM) will lead and coordinate cross-functional efforts in the development, execution, and lifecycle management of an engineering team focused on enhancing and evolving a core area of our product. You will leverage your expertise in Agile, Lean and design thinking to empower the team, guiding their day-to-day focus towards delivering meaningful customer value while achieving product, engineering and company objectives.
Responsibilities:
- Strategic Program Leadership: Collaborates with other members of the TPM team to identify problems, define and communicate the overarching product and engineering vision, strategy and roadmap, aligning with company objectives, market trends, and customer requirements.
- Team Collaboration: Lead cross-functional engineering initiatives, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages communication, knowledge sharing, and innovation. Coordinate with a variety of software skill areas as well as QA, and Hardware, among others to ensure effective collaboration and alignment throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Program Lifecycle Management: Guide the team through the end-to-end program lifecycle process, including ideation, innovation, requirements gathering, defining the architecture, identifying the solution, managing quality and release planning. Partner with QA and Hardware teams to ensure the highest product quality standards are maintained throughout the development cycle.
- Market Analysis and Competitive Intelligence: Stay informed of market trends, emerging technologies, and competitor activities. Collaborate with Legal to ensure compliance with industry regulations and work with Marketing to capitalize on differentiators in the market.
- Product Research and Feature Cohesion: Collaborate with partner Product Managers and research team to gather insights and validate hypotheses. Ensure that features align with legal requirements and maintain cohesion across the product portfolio.
- 3+ years progressive product or program management experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management, Economics, Finance, Marketing or Related.
- Demonstrated ability in knowing and understanding your customers.
- Demonstrated understanding or experience in defining product vision, strategy and roadmap.
- Demonstrated understanding or experience creating and managing an iterative engineering team backlog.
- Demonstrated understanding or experience in articulating and validating product and engineering hypotheses.
- Experience in collaborating with engineers and designers as part of remote or co-located teams.
- Excellent communication skills and presentation skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively and navigate complex decision making in a rapidly changing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters of Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Management, Economics, Finance, Marketing or Related.
- In-depth experience working with Agile development teams.
- Prior experience in an embedded software engineering role.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with engineers, designers, and business partners.
- Experience with Lean software delivery methodology.
- Previous experience leading or supporting user research.
- Project or Product Management certification (PMP, Agile, SCRUM Master, SAFe, etc.).
- Reside within the Detroit, Michigan area or nearby, with the ability to work in a hybrid environment and regularly commute to our Detroit office as needed.

Compensation Range
Compensation may vary depending on skills and experience.
Base Salary: $76,000 - $106,000
