JOB DESCRIPTION
With the guidance of the Vice President of Finance, the Financial Analyst will assist all levels of the organization with financial analysis, forecast, budget and month-end close for business units throughout the region. A team player and self-starter with a willingness to collaborate with co-workers and across departments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide financial reporting and analytical support to operations teams and the Vice President of Finance.
- Perform month-end financial review and work with Corporate Accounting on accruals, adjustments and reclasses.
- Prepare month-end variance analysis to budget and/or forecast.
- Develop business unit operating forecasts and budgets utilizing GMR’s budget platform.
- Assist operations personnel with budget activity, proper expenditure allocations, coding and document preparation.
- Pursue continuous improvement of data collection, analytical processes, reporting methods, and financial modeling techniques.
- Prepare proformas on new business opportunities and business retention.
- Obtain and process regional detail from national databases.
- Participate in Regional tasks and special projects as assigned.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures and comply with information systems security.
- Perform all required corporate trainings with successful completions.
- Maintain the highest standards of integrity, and respect for internal and external customers.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education/Licensing/Certification:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Accounting, or Finance related field.
Experience:
- Two (2) years’ experience performing month-end close, budgeting and forecasting.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Preferred experience with financial reporting software (Planful, Oracle, etc.).
- Experience in multi-divisional budgeting, financial projections, development of detailed pro-forma modeling.
- Strong quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of ambulance operations is helpful.
