Job Summary:
The Catering Server II is responsible to provide a high degree of hospitality to guests at catered events hosted at Canterbury Park. The Catering Server II will ensure the department operates effectively and ensure assigned catered events meet or exceed guest expectations. Responsible for supporting the Companies mission, vision, and values by providing fun and games like no place else, and adheres to the Canterbury Way by focusing on our core values.
This position will receive hourly rate, plus a service charge!
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead by example.
• Responsible for maintaining a high degree of hospitality, as well as a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
• Creates high levels of morale, fosters teamwork, inspires collaboration, and provides suggestions for growth to management.
• Work closely with Catering management and supervisory staff in executing catered events such as large dinners and receptions and small served events.
• Assist Catering management on trouble shooting any last minute changes by the client request; such as serving times and bar arrangements.
• Monitor and maintain the buffet in their assigned area.
• Set-up a banquet room or area according to Banquet Event form specifications, including buffets, dining tables, audio visual needs, etc.
• Ensure requisition forms are completed at the end of each event to prep for the next day's activities.
• Maintain prompt and courteous customer service to all guests throughout the day.
• Responsible for ensuring what the group has purchased part of their package is fulfill, such as assist the group to the winner's circle for sponsored race photos when applicable.
• Work closely with the Catering Greeter to assist based on business need.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
• Must have 2-4 years or more of experience in Catering and Events or related field; OR any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skill and abilities have been achieved.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Providing exceptional service to our guests during events.
• Must be willing to pitch in with other departments based on business need.
• Must be detail oriented, have strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
• Must be able to pass Canterbury Park's pre-employment screening which includes a criminal background check and verification of work history.
• Must be able to attain a Minnesota Racing Commission (MRC) license.
