At Carenet Health, our mission is to drive better healthcare experiences for every person we serve. The Project Manager plays a critical role in that mission by managing Information Technology projects from initial scope definition through successful implementation. This hybrid role requires working from our Woodstone office in San Antonio while collaborating with remote teams.
The Project Manager enables Carenet to successfully deliver strategic technology and enterprise initiatives through disciplined, independent project leadership. This role ensures complex work is structured, executed, and communicated effectively across technical and business teams.
Responsibilities
- Own assigned projects end-to-end, from initiation through closure, with minimal supervision.
- Translate loosely defined business problems into structured plans, milestones, and decision points.
- Lead cross-functional technical and operational teams through planning, execution, and delivery.
- Prepare and deliver executive-ready status updates focused on outcomes, risks, and decisions.
- Proactively identify, escalate, and drive resolution of risks, dependencies, and delivery issues.
- Leverage AI and automation tools to streamline administrative work, synthesize information, and enhance reporting.
- Manage scope changes, ensuring impacts are assessed, communicated, and formally approved.
- Facilitate retrospectives and lessons learned to continuously improve delivery practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required
- 4–8 years of project management experience, preferably in technology or enterprise environments
- Demonstrated success owning projects end-to-end with minimal oversight
- Experience partnering with Directors, VPs, or executive stakeholders preferred
- Experience with project and collaboration tools such as ServiceNow®, Smartsheet®, or equivalent
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Teams, Outlook)
- Practical experience using AI tools (e.g., Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar) to support planning, documentation, or reporting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate delivery details into business impact
- High learning agility and comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-context environment
- Strong ownership mindset
- Confident decision-maker who drives follow-ups and escalates appropriately when outcomes are at risk
- PMP or equivalent certification preferred but not required
