About the Role
We’re hiring an IT Security & Systems Administrator to take ownership of our Microsoft 365 security and administration. You’ll operate and improve our environment, implement best practices, and coordinate specialized vendors when needed. This role blends hands-on security work (identity, endpoint, DLP, Conditional Access) with day-to-day M365 administration. It’s a strong fit for an early‑career professional with real M365 experience who’s ready to grow and make meaningful impact.
What You’ll Do
- Own security, permissions, and M365 tenant administration
- Enforce MFA, clean up permissions, and address risky mailbox rules
- Implement and manage Microsoft E5 security tools: Purview (DLP/Information Protection), Defender (Identity/Endpoint/Office 365), Intune/Endpoint Manager, Conditional Access
- Build monitoring dashboards and automated alerts; review and respond daily
- Create and maintain security policies, standards, and documentation
- Lead staff security awareness/training
- Manage user onboarding/offboarding and periodic access reviews
- Coordinate external vendors or consultants for specialized projects (e.g., Sentinel)
- Produce a concise monthly security summary with key metrics and actions
Compensation & Work Setup
- $20/hour (part-time)
- Potential performance bonus tied to measurable security improvements (e.g., Secure Score)
- Remote/hybrid in the DFW metroplex
Minimum Qualifications
- Hands‑on experience with Microsoft 365 administration and security (internships, projects, labs, or early professional roles)
- Familiarity with Entra ID, Intune, Defender, and Purview/DLP concepts
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to work independently
- Clear written and verbal communication; can explain complex issues simply
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in small/mid-size environments
- SC‑900, SC‑200, or SC‑400 coursework/certification
- General M365 admin skills (mailboxes, licensing, Teams, SharePoint)
- Exposure to multi‑site or international setups
