About the Role
MIRACORP, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Records Management Specialist to provide records management support to the U.S. Department of Energy. This role supports DOE-ID and DOE-NE offices by organizing, maintaining, and safeguarding paper and electronic records in accordance with federal regulations, DOE Orders, and agency-specific procedures.
Location: U.S. Department of Energy, Idaho Falls, ID
Essential Functions
Records Management & Organization
- Organize and maintain official records in accordance with DOE and NARA guidelines
- Support records classification, retention, and disposition processes
- Maintain electronic and paper filing systems to ensure accessibility and accuracy
- Manage document repositories and shared drives
Compliance & Documentation Support
- Assist with audits, information requests, and compliance reviews
- Support development of file plans and documentation practices
- Handle sensitive or controlled information with discretion
- Prepare basic reports and summaries related to records activity
Coordination & Administrative Support
- Coordinate with program staff to ensure proper records handling
- Support general administrative tasks related to records and documentation workflows
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED and 3+ years of relevant experience in records management, information governance, or library science OR 1 year of experience
- Strong knowledge of federal records management principles and retention schedules (e.g., NARA, DOE Orders)
- Experience with electronic document or records management systems (EDMS/ERMS)
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work professionally with internal teams and external partners
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting DOE or other federal agencies
- Familiarity with DOE administrative procedures and controlled document handling
- Experience with shared drives or basic database entry
