
Revenue Cycle Medical Billing Shared Services – Account Auditor
Location: Remote (USA) or On-Site (West Plains, MO)
Hourly Pay: $19
(this position is bonus eligible)
Work Schedule: Full-Time/40 hrs./wk.
The Account Auditor works within the Shared Services Team by auditing accounts prior to closure or assigning self-pay balances to ensure compliance with internal billing procedures and required regulations.
Essential Functions/Duties
- Audits accounts on a multitude of points for compliancy of federal regulations as well as internal processes.
- Routes accounts back to billing representative with clear concise notes for needed corrections.
- Ensures accurate balances for collection from the patient / guarantor.
Qualifications:
Required Experience & Skills
- 2-years’ medical billing experience, including experience with contracted payors and government payors
- Proficient in EOB literacy
- Basic accounting skills
- Knowledge and experience of computers and related technology, at an intermediate level
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word
- Ability to communicate well, in both verbal and written forms
- Ability to follow multiple step processes
- Ability to gather data, compile information, and apply data entry steps accurately
Preferred Experience
- 1-year air ambulance medical billing experience, especially post-bill experience
- Respond / Sweet billing experience
Preferred Education
- High school diploma
- GED
- Or significant, relevant work experience
