Specialist POD
Location: REMOTE
Compensation: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
The Operation Services Team (OST) POD Specialist is responsible for reconciliation of services including ambulance, wheelchair, and gurney van transports that should optimally result in payment for those services. The Operation Services Team (OST) POD Specialist is a liaison between front-line ambulance operations and billing to ensure communication is translated between the two entities so accurate billing of the claim is successful.
Responsibilities:
- Reconcile daily operations to confirm paperwork exists for all billable events.
- Review patient records and research as needed to gather complete information.
- Ensure records are accurate and complete for billing submission.
- Manage billing returns requiring additional details or corrections.
- Address billing inquiries from operations or patients and direct them to the appropriate resource.
Qualifications:
Education & Industry Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of healthcare billing procedures, documentation, and standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Familiarity with Smartsheet
- Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
- Strong judgment and ability to handle confidential information
- Capable of working independently while following direction
