Responsibilities
Ascension is seeking a highly skilled and strategic leader to serve as Director, Discipline Integration, Strategy & Operations, within the Growth Marketing & Digital Experience (GMDx) organization. Supporting Vice President, Channel Strategy & GMDx Operations, this role acts as an extension of the leader, driving strategic alignment, operational discipline, and cross-functional integration.
The ideal candidate has demonstrated experience working with senior leaders, orchestrating priorities, strengthening operating rhythms, and enabling discipline leaders to focus on the highest-value work. This leader will partner closely across GMDx, enterprise strategy, finance, AT, and market stakeholders to reduce silos, accelerate execution, and deliver measurable impact.
The successful candidate for the Director, Discipline Integration - Strategy & Operations, will combine business acumen, digital and marketing expertise, and operational excellence with the ability to influence across teams. They must be able to operate at both the strategic and tactical levels—synthesizing complex inputs into clear decisions while improving execution discipline across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Partnership
- Serve as the trusted advisor and right hand to the Vice President, S&O, anticipating needs and ensuring focus on the most critical priorities.
- Anticipate and prioritize: Stay ahead by understanding the executive’s goals, upcoming needs, and key decisions.
- Prepare decision-ready deliverables, including briefs, dashboards, and executive updates that synthesize complexity into clear recommendations.
- Support preparation and follow-through for leadership forums, steering committees, and enterprise reviews.
- Enable alignment: Coordinate across teams and stakeholders so the organization stays aligned with the executive’s priorities.
- Multiply capacity: Handle details, preparing briefings, and solving problems proactively.
Discipline Integration
- Translate enterprise and GMDx priorities into actionable plans within the discipline.
- Drive execution: Translate strategy into actionable plans, ensuring projects move forward and follow-ups happen without the executive chasing them.
- Connect work across functions (i.e., Operations, Content, Channel Strategy, and with collaborative functions) to ensure alignment and minimize duplication.
- Manage projects effectively: breaking work down, driving execution, surfacing risks early.
- Identify dependencies and risks, coordinating with peers to accelerate delivery and resolve blockers.
Operational Discipline
- Establish and manage discipline operating rhythms, including progress reviews, planning cadences, and reporting cycles.
- Standardize templates, processes, and communications to ensure consistency and efficiency.
- Drive clarity around roles, responsibilities, and decision rights within the discipline.
Change Management & People Enablement
- Partner with the Discipline Leader to plan and land change initiatives, ensuring adoption and sustained outcomes.
- Coach and mentor team members, raising the floor of performance and preparing future leaders.
- Influence across teams without direct authority to drive alignment and accountability.
- Champion adoption of modern tools and practices (including AI-driven insights and automation) to elevate communication, decision-making, and efficiency.
Culture & Communication
- Create clear, concise, audience‑aware communication and crisp documents.
- Manage information flow: Filter, synthesize, and surface only the most relevant insights, keeping noise away and signal clear.
- Strengthens integration across disciplines, accelerating progress toward enterprise goals.
- Organize and lead discipline forums and off-site meetings.
- Lead Associate Engagement Survey listening sessions and action planning, driving for continuous improvement and a high-trust, accountable culture.
- Model and reinforce a growth mindset, encouraging learning and development, innovation and adaptability.
