As a remote Senior Electrical Designer, you will play a key role in the design and documentation of lighting, power, and electrical systems for a variety of projects. You will serve as a technical resource within the firm, producing accurate, code-compliant construction documents while mentoring junior staff. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, and is confident in developing coordinated project documents with limited oversight.
Key Responsibilities
Design Leadership & Technical Expertise
- Develop accurate, efficient, and code-compliant designs for lighting, power, and electrical systems.
- Break down complex systems into understandable components for project teams.
- Perform facility assessments, site verifications, and quality assurance reviews.
- Excel in areas of expertise while fostering innovation and best practices.
Project Documentation & Coordination
- Create and review complete drawing sets in Revit and AutoCAD, including model setup, sheet creation, and coordination with other disciplines.
- Ensure compliance with internal standards and applicable codes.
- Utilize industry and company software (Outlook, Excel, BlueBeam, AutoCAD, Revit, Word, AGI 32, and LiquidPlanner) to complete tasks accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain organized documentation throughout all phases of design and construction.
Mentorship & Team Engagement
- Provide guidance and oversight to junior designers to support their technical development.
- Model professionalism, reliability, and accountability within project teams.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, project partners, and other disciplines.
Professional Engagement
- Maintain professional appearance, consistent work habits, and strong organizational skills.
- Contribute positively to Emanuelson-Podas through technical excellence and collaboration.
- Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Associate’s degree in Electrical Design or similar
- 8+ years of relevant electrical design and project management experience
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
