Position Overview
USA12 Volt is seeking a skilled 12 Volt Installation Technician who is passionate about automotive systems and enjoys working with cutting-edge technology. In this role, you will be responsible for the installation of various automotive electronics, including telematics devices, dash cameras, and GPS systems, ensuring they function seamlessly within the vehicle environment. Your expertise will help enhance our customers’ experiences with IntelliShift’s solutions. - $500 sign on bonus
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality installations of telematics devices and other automotive electronics in customer vehicles, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
- Conduct thorough testing and diagnostics post-installation to verify functionality and resolve any issues promptly.
- Provide exceptional on-site support to customers during installations, ensuring their satisfaction throughout the process.
- Collaborate with the logistics team to manage installation schedules and optimize travel routes to minimize downtime for customers.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to safety protocols and company policies.
- Document installation processes and report troubleshooting findings accurately in the company systems.
- Stay updated with the latest automotive technology trends and IntelliShift product offerings to provide informed recommendations to customers.
- Communicate effectively with project managers and other technicians to facilitate smooth installations and resolve issues efficiently.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- High school diploma or equivalent; Technical or vocational education in automotive technology or electronics is preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in automotive electronics installation or related fields.
- In-depth knowledge of automotive 12V systems, wiring diagrams, and installation techniques.
- Familiarity with telematics devices, dash cameras, GPS systems, and related automotive electronics.
- Able to utilize a DMM effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues promptly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record; travel to various customer locations is required.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to travel, and work evenings/weekends as required. Standard work week is Tuesday through Saturday.
Bonus Skills (Preferred but Not Required)
- ASE or MECP certification in automotive electronics or related fields.
- Experience with remote vehicle diagnostics and telematics systems.
- Familiarity with safety protocols and regulations related to automotive installations.
