Pay: $55,000-60,000 annually based on experience

Schedule: Full-time; 40 hour/week role
Location: Hybrid - 3 days per week on site required. The person in this position will work onsite at an AHS location capturing photo and video content at least three days a week, with the opportunity to work remotely for the remainder of their time. Access to reliable internet, ability to prioritize work independently, and foster relationships while working in a hybrid (remote and in-person) environment is required. Must live in or have easy access to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area and be available for frequent face-to-face interactions at all of our Minnesota locations and other areas of Minneapolis/St. Paul and greater Minnesota regions.

Job Summary
The Videographer and Photographer is responsible for the end-to-end production of compelling long- and short-form video content that engages viewers and supports Animal Humane Society’s strategies and objectives. This role focuses primarily on video production, with additional responsibility for documentary and lifestyle photography.
Essential Functions
Video Storytelling:
- Plan, shoot, and edit educational, promotional, and fundraising videos for digital channels, events, and programs.
- Ensure all content is consistent with AHS messaging, brand standards, and objectives.
- Optimize content for various social and digital platforms.
- Analyze audience behaviors and tailor content to drive engagement.
- Proactively identify and propose video storytelling opportunities.
Video and Photo Projects:
- Serve as primary videographer and editor for organizational video projects.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define project timelines, goals, and deliverables.
- Utilize project management skills to prioritize, communicate, and deliver projects that meet expectations and deadlines.
- Manage the video production process from end to end, including schedules, storyboards, interviews, shooting, scripts, and editing.
- Collaborate with internal teams to fulfill organizational photography needs.
- Maintain video and photo equipment and the multimedia asset library.
Critical Response Team:
- Participate as needed on the Humane Investigations Critical Response Team, documenting the AHS response to cases of animal abuse and neglect.
Communication and Culture:
- Communicate in a positive and professional manner with customers, other employees, and volunteers.
- Promote a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion to make AHS a welcoming environment for all.
Technology:
- Utilize Adobe Creative Suite for photo and video production and editing.
- Monitor AHS email and other messaging software.
Other duties as assigned.
Additional Information:
Schedule and Attendance:
- Regular, predictable attendance, punctuality, and availability to work during operational hours, which may include some evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Attend and participate in regular team meetings, all staff meetings, and one-on-one meetings with direct leader
- May be required to attend occasional off-site meetings and events.
- Work onsite at least 3 days a week, including semi-regular travel to different work sites based on department needs.
Work Environment:
- Primarily office/desk based.
- Adjacent animal shelter areas may be humid, noisy, or odorous.
Experience:
- 2+ years of professional video storytelling experience, including a portfolio of compelling short- and long-form video projects.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite or similar video and photo production software required.
Skills:
- Exceptional video production and photography skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective multi-tasking, project management, and time-management skills.
- Strong creative and technical skills.
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged sitting at a desk.
- Must be able to lift, carry, and handle animals and other items up to 50 lbs. unassisted. For animals and other items over 50 lbs., assistance from another team member is required.
Emotional Demands:
- Must be comfortable with the emotional aspect of work in an animal shelter environment, including handling animals with a wide range of behavioral and medical needs, documenting cases of animal abuse and neglect, and exposure to humane euthanasia.
Transportation:
- Reliable transportation required.
