Fastbreak AI is a sports technology company transforming sports operations at every level, from professional leagues to youth and amateur teams. Our AI-powered platform streamlines scheduling, tournament management, and group travel while helping organizations unlock new revenue through brand partnerships.
We are seeking a staff accountant to join our team as we expand. The ideal candidate will play an integral role in our fast-paced, multi-product company by maintaining accurate financial records, supporting operational accounting, and driving process improvements. This position requires hands-on experience with Sage Intacct and a passion for thriving in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily accounting operations using Sage Intacct, including journal entries, reconciliations, AP/AR, and cash management.
- Support month-end close activities, ensuring timely and accurate reporting to stakeholders.
- Prepare financial statements and assist with variance and trend analysis to support business decisions.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to integrate accounting data from software, SaaS, ticketing, streaming, or gaming platforms (as relevant in sports tech).
- Review and reconcile general ledger accounts and maintain documentation for audits and compliance.
- Identify process improvement opportunities in a high-growth, flexible environment.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and ad hoc financial projects for management.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
- 1–3 years of accounting experience, ideally with direct experience in startups or technology companies.
- Proficiency with Sage Intacct or similar accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail and ownership mentality; ability to handle multiple priorities in a deadline-driven setting.
Preferred Experience and Attributes
- Passion for sports and an interest in software, technology and AI.
- Experience in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving startup environment, or high-growth company setting.
- Effective interpersonal skills to collaborate across remote and on-site teams.
- Familiarity with ticketing, SaaS, and/or transaction-based revenue models.
