Job Title: Data Entry Specialist
Reports to: Nurse Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

The Data specialist performs entry-level duties with a focus on performing data entry across a range of patient-related topics.
Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Accurately input patient data into the electronic medical record system, including labs, imaging, medication protocols, and treatment updates
- Review patient-submitted documents and upload relevant information into the correct chart locations
- Assist providers and nurses by entering data collected and sent by patients
- Track and organize lab results, imaging reports, and outside records for quick reference and access
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations at all times
- Communicate with the clinical team to clarify data entry needs and ensure accuracy of documentation
- Participate in team meetings to identify workflow efficiencies and improve EMR usage

Education/Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); experience with data entry a plus.
Language Ability:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Knowledge, Skills and Other Abilities:
- Demonstrates necessary computer skills.
- Ability to work productively in a fast paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.
- Excellent customer service skills when speaking to patients.
