Responsibilities
Communicate with patients, participants and staff to accurately schedule patients for prescribed procedures. Perform clerical and reception duties associated with patient registration. Provide support and serve as a resource for other.
- Gather necessary demographic, insurance and clinical information from patient and enter into appropriate database.
- Seek appropriate resources to resolve issues about the type, date or location of prescribed procedures.
- Schedule patient procedures in a manner that most efficiently utilizes the patient's time and clinical resources.
- Coordinate and communicate schedules.
- Assist with coordination of activities related to insurance pre-certification/authorization.
- Provide counseling to patient, participant or their representative regarding pre-service requirements and instructions.
Requirements
Education:
- High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
- Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
Additional Preferences
- Experience scheduling patient appointments via phone and chat correspondence.
- Experience taking high volume calls in a health-care setting.
- Ability to navigate multiple systems in a remote environment.
- Experience with Athena, Epic, Dash, Salesforce.
- Must have experience scheduling appointments for multiple practices concurrently and work in more than one EHR.
- Must have referral and prior authorization experience.
- Internal Patient Access Rep Associates must meet KPIs (Adherence 90+%, QA 90+%, manages AHT within department average) AND must be in Tier 1 for at least 6+ months.
