About the Job:
The Pre-Trip Verification Associate at DocGo plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of medical transport services. This position involves verifying insurance and coordinating with health plans and facilities for transport authorizations and supporting team members with insurance and app-related inquiries. With a strong focus on detail, organizational skills, and effective communication, the Pre-Trip Verification Associate helps maintain high standards of patient care and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure the verification of insurance and secure a payor/guarantor for each transport prior to completion.
- Adhere to payer terms and contracts.
- Interact and follow up with health plans and facilities to coordinate and obtain authorizations for transport.
- Review patient demographics and trip information from the facesheet and Dara app.
- Assist in training new hires on pre-billing processes and all related job functions.
- Initiate escalations of any issues related to payors, patients, the app, the eligibility system, and any team-related issues to the supervisor or manager.
- Assist the Communications Manager with development and process improvement goals.
- Support all Communications new hires with basic verification/app functions.
- Understand and apply the correct order of payer in all trips within the app.
- Review the Ambulnz App for documentation of special billing instructions.
- Recognize and identify appropriate level of service (ALS vs. BLS, etc.)
- Navigate through all resources to locate insurance information and supporting documentation that may be relative to the billing process (i.e. PCS)
- Knowledge of CPT codes for ambulance transports
- Secures payer authorizations for transports.
- Understand the signature requirements and have the ability to recognize valid versus invalid signature types
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Extensive Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of payor eligibility and benefits.
- Detail Orientation: Strong attention to detail.
- Communication Skills: Proficiency in communication.
- Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to research data and solve issues related to patient payor data.
- Service Recognition: Ability to recognize and identify the appropriate level of service (ALS, BLS, etc.).
- High School Diploma or GED
