Description
Pharmacists Mutual Insurance has an opening for an Operations Associate I or II. This position assists the Commercial Insurance & Operations team through the use of a broad range of support functions. The position helps make day-to-day activities more efficient by carrying out tasks related to data entry, technical computer skills, organization, and communication. Responsibilities might range from policy processing, working collaboratively on projects, training and auditing, and problem-solving system functionalities.
Operations Associate I
- Supports the underwriting process through data entry, policy processing and other tasks as assigned.
- Has a broad understanding of the underwriting workflow and the software systems.
- Ability to recognize system irregularities.
Operations Associate II
- Demonstrates a history of high quality work and strong knowledge base about systems and policies.
- Ability to troubleshoot and test system issues or enhancements.
- Provides support to the underwriting team in areas of documentation, report management and vendor management.
- Recognizes and provides possible solutions to system and/or workflow concerns.
- May participate in special projects and assignments.
- May provide training to other team members due to experience in the role.
- May assist in quality reviews.
Essential Functions
Essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Ensures data quality and accuracy, timely data entry, and policy processing.
- Handles all tasks in regards to picking up, sorting, and delivering mail as assigned. (Mailroom position only)
- Understands computer operations and is capable of navigating multiple applications simultaneously and accurately.
- Provides timely and quality customer service.
- Documents all transactions according to Company guidelines.
- Assists visitors and answers telephone calls, takes messages or refers the caller to the appropriate staff.
- Supports the insurance operations through processing of incoming documentation.
- Duplicates, collates, assembles, mails, and distributes materials as instructed.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Thorough knowledge of principles and practices of insurance underwriting, collection and interpretation of data.
- Ability to operate equipment necessary to print, assemble, and mail documents, including troubleshooting routine issues.
- Ability to use initiative and apply innovative thinking.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships in a team environment through written and oral communication.
- Correct English usage, spelling, grammar, vocabulary and punctuation.

Qualifications
Experience and Education Qualifications
Operations Associate I
- High School diploma or equivalent and 1 year of related experience
Operations Associate II
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 2 to 3 years of related experience
