Join our team as a Reimbursement Specialist I. You will be responsible for the accurate and timely completion and submission of Medicare, Medicaid, private payer and patient billing, and accounts receivable tracking and follow-up.

Qualifications
On an Average Day You Will:
(includes but not limited to)
- Prepares, mails and tracks claims
- Prepares Excel mid-month and month-end worksheet
- Accurately enters patient billing data, including visit and supply charges, into the appropriate information system
- Accurately processes and bills Medicare, Medicaid, private payer and patient claims in accordance with payer requirements and organizational policy
- Mails, scans and files room and board checks
- Follow up on claims with the payer sources to ensure payment
- Collects remittance invoices and enter in Suncoast
- Updates billing issues and files transmit to locations and work with the location to resolve those issues
- Alerts management regarding late or missing documents required for billing
- Reviews room and board invoices, verifies rates, and attach eligibility pages
- Assists with the collection of receivables by monitoring accounts receivables, resubmitting bills to overdue accounts, and alerting the billing manager of seriously overdue accounts
- Tracks EFT generated claims and ensure positive receipt/processing status
- Creates 81As/NOEs in Suncoast and enter to DDE
- Prepares and submits appeal information as needed to payor sources
- Assists other billers with Medicare and DDE issues as needed
- Assists in the preparation of monthly billing and accounts receivable reports
- Establishes and maintains positive working relationship with patients, payors, and other internal and external customers
- Always maintains the confidentiality of patient and organization information
- Performs other specific projects relating to billing, data entry, and computer operations as required
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Must have two (2) to three (3) years of experience in health care data entry, preferably in a hospice care system
- Must have one (1) year of previous health care related billing experience, preferably in hospice care billing

- Ability to learn and use computer systems and software
- Detailed oriented and have strong organization skills
- Able to type and do data entry
- Must be able to work under tight deadlines and under sometimes stressful situations
