Job Description:
UPMC Magee-Womens Hospital is seeking a Full Time Medical Transcriptionist II to support the Women's Imaging department!
This position will work Monday through Friday daylight shifts. This role will be fully remote after completion of training. Hours are subject to change based on business needs.
The Medical Transcriptionist II transcribes in final form every type of medical document produced by the UPMC Transcription Department using departmental word processing system software and the digital dictation system.
Responsibilities:
Edit reports, which have been held with questions, preparing the final copies as appropriate.
Check all interfaces, including the FAX server, independently as necessary.
Monitor the dictation system for STAT reports requiring transcription; the Medical Transcriptionist must know the turnaround times of all report types, alerting one of the supervisory personnel if there are several STAT reports awaiting transcription.
Require to learn to transcribe new facilities and report types as they are accepted by UPMC Transcription Services.
Attain Quality Assurance rate average of 98.5% per month.
Report all problems with the processing system, including network/file server errors, according to procedure.
Accurately transcribe dictation achieving the following production rate: A minimum of 145 lines per hour.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited medical transcription, medical record, or medical secretary program preferred.
2 to 3 years of acute care medical transcription experience and/or Certified Medical Transcription (CMT) designation.
Capable of transcribing technical, medical information from any vocal delivery including foreign and regional accents.
Typing rate must be 60+ words per minute.
Require the ability to hear, read, communicate, and understand the English language.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Certified Medical Transcriptionist.
