What you’ll do
As the Deal Desk Manager at Mambu, you will play a critical role in enabling our Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy by managing and optimizing deal structures, pricing, and approval processes. You will collaborate closely with Sales, Customer Success & Delivery, Legal, Finance, and other cross-functional teams to ensure deals are structured to align with Mambu’s strategic objectives while meeting customer needs. The role involves balancing deal velocity with governance, driving efficiencies in the deal process, and has a global reach across regions and gives an opportunity to develop highly visible and trusting relationships with key commercial and executive leaders to provide strategic insights to support their decision-making. Key responsabilities will include:
1. Deal Review and Structuring:
- Evaluate deal proposals to ensure alignment with company policies, pricing strategy, and revenue recognition standards.
- Collaborate with Sales to design deal structures that balance customer needs with Mambu’s financial and strategic objectives.
- Provide recommendations on pricing, discounts, and contract terms to drive value and close opportunities efficiently.
2. Pricing and Approvals:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for pricing strategy and discount governance, ensuring compliance with company guidelines.
- Manage and enforce the deal approval compliance process, including routing deals to the appropriate stakeholders for sign-off.
- Support Sales in navigating complex deal scenarios, offering creative solutions while adhering to business constraints.
3. Data Management and Insights:
- Maintain and manage deal-related data within the CRM (e.g., Salesforce), ensuring one source of truth accuracy and integrity of records.
- Analyze deal trends, discounting behavior, and win/loss patterns to provide insights that inform pricing and go-to-market strategies.
- Prepare dashboards and reports to present deal desk performance metrics to leadership.
4. Process Optimization and Automation:
- Establish a business partner model for the sales and services organisation supporting them in the creation of the deal structure and especially own the end to end approval process.
- Continuously refine deal desk workflows to reduce bottlenecks and improve efficiency without compromising compliance.
- Partner with the Revenue Operations & IT teams to implement automation tools and auditable processes, such as CPQ (Configure Price Quote) systems, to streamline deal management.
- Support in developing training materials, sales examples and conduct regular contract training sessions – to reduce contract variations between similar deals
5. Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Work closely with Sales, Finance, and Legal teams to ensure deal terms are negotiated and approved in a timely and compliant manner.
- Act as an advisor to Sales teams, ensuring they have the tools, insights, and support needed to execute deals effectively.
- Collaborate with the FP&A team to ensure alignment between deal structures and broader financial planning objectives.
Key Success Factors:
- Operational Excellence: Streamline and standardize deal review and approval processes to ensure efficiency, scalability, and alignment with business goals.
- Strategic Guidance: Provide actionable insights and recommendations to Sales and Finance on pricing strategies, discount structures, and deal terms to maximise profitability while remaining competitive.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as the central point of coordination between Sales, Customer Success & Delivery, Legal, and Finance to ensure smooth execution of deals while maintaining governance and compliance standards.
What you’ll bring
- 3-5 years of experience in deal desk, revenue operations, sales operations, or a related role, ideally in a SaaS environment.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret data and make strategic recommendations.
- Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce) and familiarity with CPQ tools is highly desirable.
- Proven ability to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships with Sales, Finance, and Legal stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail, particularly in reviewing deal terms, pricing structures, and contracts.
- Ability to navigate complex deal scenarios and provide creative, compliant solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred.
