Job Description Summary:
This position serves to fulfill organizational needs included in subspecialty data registry management. Responsible for abstracting information from and conducting concurrent and or retrospective review of medical records in order to facilitate the analysis, monitoring and reporting of subspecialty quality data as to identify opportunities for advancement and to facilitate process improvement initiatives for the system. Coordinates management of subspecialty clinical data registries, performance improvement initiatives throughout the system for improved patient quality. This position will need to educate staff and providers on registry specific performance, with the goal to improve patient care and organizational quality performance. This role requires leading projects by partnering with multidisciplinary team members across the organization.
As a Clinical Registry Specialist, you will be responsible for comprehensive patient level data collection, validation, analysis, and interpretation. You will collaborate directly with our clinical partners to ensure optimal documentation of risk and outcomes. You will partner with state, national, and federal organizations to ensure complete, accurate, and timely data submissions and to develop and distribute standard and ad hoc reports to appropriate stakeholders.
Responsibilities And Duties:
Functional Knowledge 20%
Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines.
Analyzes and interprets visual and summarized data findings utilizing databases and statistical programs in a proficient and timely manner; evaluates findings in comparison to current and past trends, benchmark data from other hospitals and standardized information from literature sources.
Collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to identify, plan, and implement process and improvement initiatives.
Analyses data for continuous improvement. Understands and executes quality and patient safety methodologies, as well as regulatory requirements, risk mitigation strategies to improve care.
Strong computer software skills to include Microsoft Office Products

Applies knowledge of best practice initiatives regarding quality, safety, regulatory requirements, and risk mitigation strategies to provide value to the organization.
Delivers sophisticated data analysis products, using accurate and appropriate data resources, conceptualizes, designs, and generates original reports to provide data and statistical information to Quality Department, Physicians, and other key stakeholders.
Provides clarity to complex issues concerning the specific registry and its operational needs.
Performs data quality control activities, including auditing, analyzing, and summarizing findings.
Identifies opportunities for improvement in data collection and implements change.

Ensures the smooth running of database applications and supports customer needs including serving as a liaison with the vendor and the OhioHealth Information Technology Department.
