Job Summary:

Consultant will provide medical billing/collections expertise during customer engagements. This position will require understanding of the billing/collections process with medical insurances with focus on collection of patient balances. Primary duties include managing open self-pay Accounts Receivables, inbound / outbound calls to patients, collecting and posting payments, balancing daily receipts and working from reports to reduce A/R. He/she can communicate professionally with customers and peers, is dependable and committed to their own success as well as our customers’ success.

Travelling to customer sites to deliver consulting services should not be expected. Engagements applicable to this role can be performed remotely.

Essential Functions:

Perform self-pay collection duties as assigned
Responsible for maintaining and prioritizing weekly work lists for outbound calls and duties as assigned with the end goal to optimize revenue while decreasing A/R
Payment collections daily balance
Verify and update patient accounts with corrected insurance information as needed.
Make outbound calls for revenue collections
Identify and report to manager any system or process issues directly.
Maintain honesty and integrity at all times.
Protect patient information, focus on data security at all times, be vigilant in protecting hardware, software, PHI, maintain control of all information, computers, and keep data security in the forefront of everything you do.

Minimum Requirements:

Demonstrated competency in customer management, ideally in a healthcare setting or for large customer accounts
