About the Role: We are looking for a Paralegal to join our team. In this role, you will support litigation, legal and regulatory matters within the Gore Medical Legal, Compliance and Data Privacy organization, for several legal areas including employment, commercial, product liability and environmental health and safety. This role will provide litigation support for federal and state court cases and handle all aspects of responses to third-party subpoenas, respond to requests from and prepare documentation required by administrative agencies, draft and respond to legal correspondence, participate in due diligence work, conduct legal research, handle a wide variety of complex legal projects and advise business clients on compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, under the guidance of, and in partnership with, Gore Medical attorneys and legal professionals.
This position will be located at any facility in Phoenix or Flagstaff, Arizona, and Newark, Delaware, with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.
Responsibilities:
Handle litigation support activities for federal and state court matters, including: docket management, litigation holds and preservation of documents, collection and preparation of documents and other evidence and assistance for attorneys with preparation and representation of Gore Medical in depositions and other legal proceedings
Manage all aspects of immigration matters (work permits and visa applications) with outside counsel, including consultation and communication with internal clients, oversight of outside counsel, and managing fee structures and billing
Conduct legal research in broad range of subject matter areas (e.g., due diligence support for contract negotiations and M&A projects, case law and factual research, preparing summary reports) in support of legal professionals in the Gore Medical Legal, Compliance and Data Privacy organization
Draft, review and edit legal documents (e.g., contracts, agreements, business communications) under the guidance of licensed legal professionals
Serve as project manager for audits and investigations, including document and information collection and management and conducting interviews
Prepare legal forms/templates, maintain and manage standard legal processes
Develop and maintain files, databases and systems to collect, store and retrieve information needed for litigation, regulatory and employment matters
Educate and train Gore Associates on a wide variety of laws and regulations relevant to the Gore Medical business activities
Create an environment of continuous improvement and efficiency in the delivery of legal services
Oversee the management of and communicate with outside counsel, alternative legal service providers and other consultants, as required
Required Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of work experience in a Paralegal role supporting litigation matters, including employment law
Experience providing legal guidance to external / internal clients in consultation with attorneys
Significant legal knowledge of employment law and product liability law
Excellent oral and written communication skills, especially in explaining complex laws, regulations, and legal risks to business clients
Capability to effectively and efficiently conduct investigations in response to internal or external complaints or claims
Competency drafting responses to requests for administrative agencies or other legal correspondence
Capability to function independently and collaborate with a variety of internal clients including teams based in the United States and Gore Medical's other locations worldwide
Detail oriented and ability to prioritize among multiple competing projects
Ability to drive results and balance identification and management of legal risks while meeting business objectives
Ability and willingness to travel up to 10%
Desired Qualifications:
Paralegal certification
Experience with a medical device, pharmaceutical, diagnostic or healthcare company
Prior work in the areas of immigration law, and commercial law and M&A due diligence
