Medical Billing – Revenue Cycle – Hospital Records Retrieval Clerk
Location: Remote or On-Site
Hourly Pay: $17
This position is bonus eligible
Work Schedule: M-F 8am-5pm CST
JOB SUMMARY
The Medical Billing - Revenue Cycle - Hospital Records Retrieval Clerk works to obtain the needed hospital records to facilitate timely and accurate claim processing and appeals.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES
- Obtains information to request records from hospital facilities.
- Faxes accurate requests for records to hospital.
- Identifies accounts needing hospital records requested.
- Follows-up on records requested until records are obtained.
- Ensures records are documented in account and ready for next process.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Experience:
- 6 months data entry experience
- Basic computer skills – including basic Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience with downloading documents from websites and accessing documents
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Preferred Experience:
- 6 months records retrieval experience
- Experience with Respond Billing / Sweet
Preferred Education:
- High school diploma
- GED
- Or significant, relevant work experience
