Revenue Cycle Medical Billing – Self-Pay Patient Advocate – Intake
Work Location: Remote or In-Office
Hourly Pay: $16.00
(this position is bonus eligible)
The Self Pay Patient Advocate – Intake position is responsible for ensuring proper documentation for accurate patient billing.
Essential Functions/Duties
- Entering data to ensure accurate patient billing.
- Assisting Call Center with inbound calls from customers with billing inquiries.
- Making outbound calls to validate active insurance coverage.
- Collecting outstanding balances.
- Assisting customers with Compassionate Care applications.
Qualifications:
Required Experience
- A minimum of six (6) months data entry experience
- A minimum of six (6) months customer service experience
- Ability to work independently or as an active member of a team
- Must possess empathic and professional written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge and experience of computers and related technology, at an intermediate level
- Experience calculating numbers, correcting entries, posting records, and records maintenance
- Knowledge and understanding of payor Explanation of Benefits (basic)
Preferred Experience
- A minimum of six (6) months working in a call center environment
- Healthcare/Revenue Cycle billing experience
- Sales/Collections experience
Education
- High school diploma
- GED
- Or significant, relevant work experience
