Summit Medical Group is recruiting for a Patient Relations Specialist which identifies, investigates and resolves billing issues with patient’s accounts. This is a full time opportunity, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with the potential for remote work after successfully completing training.
Examples of Duties (List does not include all duties assigned)
- Answers patient calls related to their accounts and formulates solutions when appropriate.
- Responds to written patient inquiries and formulates solutions when appropriate.
- Assists in maintaining, updating and auditing the patient account information.
- Transfers charges to the correct agency or carrier, when appropriate.
- Communicates with insurance companies as needed.
- Adjusts patient accounts according to established policies and procedures.
- Communicates appropriate problems, questions and / or concerns to supervisor.
- Assists colleagues in department and other office personnel, as appropriate.
- Displays initiative, when appropriate, while investigating patient inquiries and handling other assignments.
- Adheres to all elements of the established corporate compliance plan.
- Maintains strictest confidentiality both internally and externally.
- Performs related work as assigned.
Education
High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience
Prefer one-year experience in a medical billing setting.
