Intern Software Engineer
Pixelogic provides a broad range of solutions in the realm of film and TV post-production, localization, and distribution. The Pixelogic Internship is a paid position at $18/hr. Interns will go through training, learning and knowledge application for twelve weeks. Managers and Mentors will be assigned to each Intern. The actual work that the Interns will experience is hands on and the skills acquired after training are valuable to any employer and will have practical career applications in the real world.
Training, Learning and Responsibilities:
This Intern position is on the team that develops advanced media services and tools to characterize, interpret, transcode, validate, or otherwise transform audio, video, images, and text. The Intern will also be trained in ensuring that all security protocols are followed when dealing with sensitive material. We are seeking talented individuals who can help advance the state of the art in media processing. Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
- Work in an agile team to develop, test, deploy and maintain on-premises or AWS
services that process video, audio, and subtitle contents. - Collaborate with senior developers to design, develop, and maintain software applications, features, and systems using modern software development methodologies.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of software applications, ensuring functionality and optimization.
- Debug and troubleshoot software issues, implementing effective solutions.
- Document software designs, coding procedures, and program functionalities.
- Perform unit tests and work with QA and deployment team towards a complete product.
- Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
• A recent graduate from an accredited College or University or currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of programming languages such as Python, C#, C++, or similar.
• Familiarity with Linux and system service framework is a plus.
• Experience using Visual Studio/Visual Studio Code is preferred.
• Knowledge of system frameworks including Git and Jira
• Basic understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Must be able to commit to 12 weeks of work at full-time work schedule. Must be available to work overtime, including weekend, if necessary.
• Must be able to work onsite in Burbank, CA- this is not a remote position.
• Must be able to start immediately and have reliable transportation to report to work on time.
