Overview
Position Summary
The Payroll Practitioner I is responsible for establishing and maintaining accurate employee and payroll records. This role involves tasks such as auditing timekeeping records, maintaining attendance records, processing new hires, posting changes in pay and tax status, and other payroll-related adjustments. Tasks are generally routine and follow established procedures, with work performed under close supervision.

Review new hire profiles received from the HRIS provider to ensure accuracy and coordinate with the onboarding team on new hire pay rates.
Rehire team members by processing the necessary updates in the payroll system.
Process terminations by updating payroll and employee records accordingly.
Reconcile benefits through benefit true-ups to ensure accurate deductions and contributions.
Calculate equipment fees and process related adjustments.
Correct timesheets to resolve discrepancies and ensure accurate payroll processing.
Execute payroll processing by preparing and finalizing payroll runs according to the established schedule.
Handle direct deposit returns and address associated issues.
Process company gift gross-ups to account for tax implications.
Maintain 401K contributions by ensuring accurate deductions and compliance with relevant regulations.
Manage organizational changes by updating employee records and payroll data.
Scan and submit garnishment orders and tax cases to the HRIS provider for processing.
Monitor payroll operations and prepare related documents as needed.
Compose welcome emails for new hires to facilitate onboarding.
Assist with resolving timesheet discrepancies, PTO balance issues, and other payroll production problems.
Collaborate with departmental teams to streamline payroll processes while upholding the company’s core values.
Respond promptly to end users’ needs and concerns related to payroll and business system issues.
Qualifications
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; demonstrated aptitude for math and accounting. – US | Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent - PH
0-2 years of relevant experience, along with proficiency in calculator use, word processing, and spreadsheet software. – US | 2-4 years of relevant experience to the role – PH
Strong computer skills, including typing, and familiarity with payroll systems and software.
Accurate data entry skills with a keen attention to detail.
Effective verbal and written communication skills for addressing employee issues and concerns.
Good client service skills, demonstrating professionalism and responsiveness.
Sound decision-making skills for handling payroll-related matters.
Ability to multitask and manage workload in a time-sensitive environment with strict deadlines.
Capability to work independently while adhering to company protocols.
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and respecting the privacy of employee records.
