The Role
The Growth Marketing team is seeking a data-driven Senior Retention Marketing Associate to support the strategy & execution of our pre/post-purchase Email/SMS marketing efforts, subscription program and help develop the overall customer lifecycle.
As a key part of our fast-growing, mission-driven brand, you will have the freedom to own key experiences of the customer journey and develop insightful conversion oriented tests. You will be responsible for the rigorous measurement of performance, testing and optimization of lifecycle marketing efforts inclusive of all Email/SMS flows & campaigns and will be supported by an experienced team.
Responsibilities:
- Own outgoing Email and SMS comms for retention and acquisition
- Build and maintain key pre & post-purchase flows; ensuring always-on testing
- Manage Email & SMS campaign calendar and ensure a smooth process from campaign scoping to segmented sends
- Manage Klaviyo, our ESP and SMS platform
- Build robust segmentation to further personalize and customize our message to our audience
- Develop briefs and work in collaboration with the Creative team to develop engaging emails
- Develop hypotheses and run A/B tests on subject lines, content/messaging, offers, landing pages, flow structures, etc. to improve incremental performance
- Assist in the scaling and optimization of Blueland’s subscription program with a focus on increasing adoption and decreasing churn
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, brand marketing, customer experience, and digital product to ensure a seamless delightful customer journey throughout the full customer lifecycle
- Help to develop broader marketing strategies to grow and retain Blueland customer segments
- Analyze key retention metrics such as lifetime value (LTV), Repeat Rate, Subscription Adoption Rate, and Churn to drive actionable insights and optimize marketing strategies
- Design growth reports and conduct ad hoc reporting
Qualifications:
- 1-2 years of lifecycle marketing experience. Startup & DTC experience preferred
- Deep understanding of Email & SMS (flows, campaigns, cross-sell/upsell, customer segmentation, etc.). Experience in Klaviyo is preferred, but not required.
- Experience in Excel and Google Analytics. Additional experience with BI tools especially Looker is preferred
- Detail-oriented and a fast learner comfortable wearing many hats
- Consistently takes initiative and has a relentless desire to optimize & improve metrics
- Highly analytical and strategic thinker - you leverage data to inform key decisions and can anticipate potential future problems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Passionate about the environment and sustainability and interested in Blueland’s mission
The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $85,000 per year.
