ABOUT PRECISION DIAGNOSTICS:
Precision Diagnostics, based in San Diego, California is a fast-growing clinical laboratory that specializes in providing quantitative drug testing, primarily for the purpose of helping physicians monitor their patient's undergoing treatment for pain or substance abuse. Precision’s objective is to improve patient adherence/compliance with their prescription regimen and protect medical practices from liability.
The Patient Account Specialist is responsible for the processing and documenting of all patient accounts where a Financial Application is received and ensuring patient accounts that have entered Billing system from our LIS system via the Web services interface are updated in accordance with current policy and procedure and to bring account to final resolution.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Support Customers with ensuring billing data is updated in their customer account upon onboarding
- Maintain and Process patient Financial Assistance Applications under the policies and procedures set forth in the SOP
- Use and manage multiple computer systems, applications, and websites to make accurate determinations regarding the patients Financial Assistance
- Create and maintain documents sent to the patients
- Update and document patient accounts within Billing system
- Identify and enter any missing demographic and financial information in the Billing system for accessions
- Make any necessary manual adjustments to patient accounts
- Review and audit all patient accounts
- Document and store all documentation within SharePoint accurately
- Assist Supervisor with Monthly and Year End Financial Audits
- Maintain and Update any Patient Account(s) that may have various PIDs
- Ensure any multiple PID accounts are updated with accuracy as needed to meet productivity and quality requirements
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality and privacy in accordance with organizational policies
- Other duties as assigned
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:
- Must have at least a high school diploma or GED
- Preferred 1 year of Billing in a Lab, Doctors office or other Healthcare setting
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Demonstrates an independent work initiative, sound judgment and strong work ethic
- Works cooperatively in a team atmosphere

- Become fluent in Microsoft 365 (formerly Office635) applications assigned to your role. Common applications include Teams, Word, Excel, Tasks and Planner
- Complete training in a timely manner that is assigned to you. Training is primarily conducted via Microsoft Learn modules and is assigned based on:
- Position/Job Role – Most positions require a core set of Microsoft 365 working knowledge
- Project Role – As member of a project team, you may be required to complete training before you can engage with the project team or commence project work
- Ad-Hoc – Based on review of your performance via support requests, training modules will be assigned to increase skills
ADDITIONAL JOB CONSIDERATIONS:
- This position is Full-Time and temporary, expected to last approximately 4 months
- Salary is $18.50 per hour
- Flexible start times between 5:00am and 8:30am
- Must be able to sit at a desk for prolonged periods and work on a computer.
