Job Description
The Senior CMC Laboratory Operations Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the laboratory. This role facilitates coordination and alignment of priorities across the materials, design, and supply chain teams to meet business and customer objectives. This role has supervisory responsibility for the raw material and component lab technician team, ensuring they are properly resourced, and leads initiatives to meet safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives for the section.
Key responsibilities include:
- Responsibility for lab technician team; develops both people and functional skillset development and succession plans; fosters a strong, inclusive, high-performing culture
- Coordinates weekly lab schedule; leads and/or develops daily and weekly management rhythms that allow for escalation, act as an accountability framework, and create a forward-looking view that enables a proactive problem-solving approach
- Exercises a customer-centric approach, building customer relationships and serving as an interface between internal customers and the team.
- Responsible for lab capacity; aggregates current and future demand profiles (people and equipment) and compares to lab capacity; advocates as needed for capacity growth to meet customer/program expectations and/or additional demand to maintain lab workload.
Qualifications/requirements:
- B.S. degree in Ceramics, Composites, or Engineering from an accredited university or college or B.S. degree in another Engineering discipline from an accredited university or college
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a program or project leadership role within an engineering environment.
