The Senior Analyst-Tax position is an integral part of Best Buy’s world-class Tax team that supports a growing multinational company striving to enrich the lives of consumers through technology. The senior tax analyst is responsible for the preparation of Best Buy's federal and state income tax filings. This position will interact with others to help ensure that business operations are appropriately reflected in the various filings.
A successful candidate is a team player who is organized, self-motivated, able to multi-task, focused on improving processes, able to grasp new concepts quickly, able to analyze large amounts of data and is comfortable dealing with both internal and external partners in a fast-paced environment.**This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work some days on-site at the Best Buy location listed on this posting and some days virtually from home or other non-Best Buy location. For this role, you must be located within a drivable distance to our office in Richfield, Minnesota. What you’ll do- Preparation of federal and state income tax returns (including consolidated federal return, partnership returns, unitary and separate company state returns)
- Analysis and preparation of federal income tax book/tax adjustments
- Assist with the preparation of the federal quarterly estimated tax payments
- Assist the Tax Accounting team on the income tax provision including deferred tax calculations
- Support federal & state income tax audits
- Assist with monitoring and understanding current income tax developments that impact the company.
- Assist with the implementation and monitoring of tax planning and compliance projects
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with corporate partners and external service providers.
Basic Qualifications- 2 years of federal/state income tax experience within public accounting or a large corporate tax function
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, specifically Microsoft Excel
Preferred Qualifications- CPA
- Masters in taxation
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal, presentation)
