Job Overview
USIS, part of Davies Specialty Programs, is looking for an Intake Specialist to assist with the intake and accurate entry of Workers’ Compensation claims received via phone to the system.
This is a remote-based position with the opportunity to work from home and is considered full-time for benefits. Required shift: Saturday & Sunday, 7pm – 7am.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- From phone report, gather and evaluate information from the injured employee or employer to determine level/category of injury, based on set criteria.
- Data entry of initial claim information to the claims system, working efficiently within deadlines and timeframes.
- Route the First Report of Injury call to the appropriate Triage Unit member for further handling.
- Research any situations that may prevent claim entry to ensure claim is entered to the system timely.
- Organize and verify all related forms for daily mail-out.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience and Qualifications
- Medical terminology/medical office experience helpful.
- Must be able to work required shift: Saturday & Sunday, 7pm – 7am
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bi-lingual (fluent in English and Spanish) helpful.
- Must be able to work required shift: Saturday & Sunday, 7pm – 7am
- Fast and accurate data entry, 40+ wpm, with ability to efficiently use a computer and business-related software.
- Organized, motivated, detail orientated.
- Ability to successfully meet daily deadlines.
- Reliable team player with good attendance record.

Position Type, Work Environment and Physical Demands
This is a remote, full-time, hourly, non-exempt position that requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, photocopiers, and scanners and requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk while working on a computer. While performing the duties of this job, the individual will be required to regularly hear and talk. This is a largely sedentary role requiring the ability to sit at a desk, reach outward, use a phone, have use of fingers to operate office equipment such as a keyboard, mouse, phone, printer, copier, and to reach above the head, bend, or stand as necessary.
