At RWE Clean Energy (RWECE), the Sr Manager, Construction FP&A within the Investments Controlling Development and Construction team is responsible for financial performance controlling, planning & reporting and target setting for the Onshore Wind, Solar and Energy Storage businesses in the Americas region. Working as a strategic partner and trusted advisor with the business, evaluates improvement measures, actively giving recommendations/appropriate challenges, and business decision support.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and support timely financial planning and analysis for the construction team. Complete accurate, high-quality reporting/planning/forecasting with both business stakeholders and RWECE leadership
- Lead and manage direct reports as well as others within the Investments Controlling team, including, review of work product, set expectations on roles and responsibilities, be a mentor and provide guidance and performance feedback
- Take ownership of tasks and deliverables related to quarterly forecasting, MTP (mid-term planning), monthly performance dialogs, business cases, ad-hoc analyses, special topics and savings initiatives
- Manage overall budget (MTP) and forecast reporting for CapEx, including consolidation and crafting story on CapEx investments and variances to actuals and plan to SVPs and RWECE leadership
- Play an integral role in the migration and implementation of a new Budgeting & Forecasting (B&F) tool initiative. This person will own Corporate Controlling data (B&F and risk) in systems/tools and main contact in providing guidance to the team and other stakeholders for requested information (SAP systems, templates, models, deliverables)
- Integrate systems and change management by supporting company-wide top priorities and goals, special projects, and integration activities (e.g. organizational changes and M&A growth)
- Manage communication to leadership. Prepare materials for and lead meetings with Senior Management, RWECE C-suite, RWECE Board and other stakeholders
- Coordination and teamwork: As a primary contact within the team, coordinate overarching topics and related financial impacts across the business
- Continuous process improvement: Support the proactive pursuit of best practices, processes, standardization and tools that drive gains in efficiency, automation, and quality
- Ongoing initiatives: Support company-wide top priorities and goals, special projects, and integration activities following recent organization structure change, increase in growth targets, and integration activities following the recent merger
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance/Accounting/Economics/Business (required); an Advanced degree is a plus, but not required
- Minimum of 12 years’ of professional experience in FP&A, Accounting, Controlling, Financial or Management Consulting or other Finance-related fields (some Corporate FP&A background required); Renewable energy experience is a plus
- Must have experience managing direct reports and the ability to motivate and develop team members
- Analytical and proactive problem-solver
- Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to manage customer relationships
- Excellent proficiency with SAP (moderate to advanced), Excel (moderate to advanced), PowerPoint, Tableau, Power BI, other system/tools experience is a plus
- Strong leadership and communication, and ability to meet deadlines
- Strong organization skills and ability to coordinate multiple tasks and deliverables
- Ability to multi-task, while working independently and as part of a team
- Motivated self-starter, goal-oriented, and strong problem-solving abilities
- Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
- Is detail-oriented, has strong business acumen, and a sound understanding of business concepts
- General accounting and IFRS knowledge a plus
- Language: English (fluent), German is a plus
