Move for Hunger is a national non-profit organization that mobilizes transportation networks to deliver surplus food to communities in need. Founded in 2009, Move For Hunger has partnered with 1,200+ moving companies across the nation to encourage their customers to donate their food when they move. We have seen rapid expansion over the past few years within the relocation and multifamily apartment industries - with over 600,000 apartment units working with us. In addition to rescuing food during move out, Move for Hunger also organizes hundreds of food drives, fundraisers, and corporate employee engagement events. In addition, we've expanded our reach to farmers, distributors, CPG and logistics companies in an effort to recover even more fresh food. Since its founding, Our team of 20+ has delivered more than 49 million pounds of food to those in need - enough to provide more than 40 million meals to families in need.
About the role:
The Digital Marketing Strategist will play a crucial role in supporting Move For Hunger’s email and web marketing efforts. Reporting to the Director of Marketing Automation and Strategy, this position will spearhead email marketing automation, creating drip and nurture campaigns in Pardot (Marketing Cloud Account Engagement) to support more engaging customer journeys for our movers, members, and donors. This role will work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate CRM and marketing automation systems across Move For Hunger’s various platforms, from the website to social media advertising.

Job responsibilities
Email marketing
- Manage email marketing calendar to ensure timely delivery to our customers. Create and execute Move For Hunger’s emails, communications and campaigns.
- Work closely with the marketing team to test and update templates across devices & clients. Run A/B testing for optimal user engagement.
- Build and update target audience lists and segments to support organizational goals.
- Develop various campaigns and automations across the customer lifecycle, such as welcome drips, lead nurturing initiatives, renewal journeys, and more.
Analysis and reporting
- Provide regular campaign performance reports and actionable insights on the effectiveness of marketing efforts across platforms.
- In collaboration with the Marketing Director, build key reports in Salesforce, GA4, and beyond.
- Manage survey projects and other opportunities to gather customer feedback, and identify trends for future improvement.
- Stay abreast of latest industry trends and digital marketing best practices.
- Support marketing operations initiatives in Pardot and Salesforce around data hygiene and automation, and ensure workflows are efficient and effective.
Website support
- Perform regular updates on Move For Hunger’s sites to ensure content is timely, accurate, and engaging.
- Working alongside Move For Hunger’s developer, support technical site updates and enhancements, including A/B testing to optimize landing pages and conversion funnels.
- Contribute to improving SEO strategies and site structure. Provide recommendations for content optimization and on-page technical improvements.
Experience and Education Requirements:
- 2-3 years experience with an email marketing automation tool (preferably strongly Pardot/MCAE);
- Proven experience executing and reporting on email and other digital campaigns;
- Proven experience with list and segment development. Experience with scoring & grading is a plus;
- Proficient in HTML, CSS, and Content Management Systems (Concrete 5 and WordPress preferred). JavaScript is a plus;
- Proficient in Salesforce (preferably Salesforce for nonprofits);
- Experience with Google Analytics 4 to assess data and build reports. Google Tag Manager, Search Console, and Ads experience a plus.
Working Conditions:
- The typical work environment is Remote/Work From Home Monday-Friday, 9 am to 5 pm Eastern Time, but can vary based on the needs of the organization and may occasionally include evenings and weekends;
- Regularly work indoors, with occasional requirements for outdoor work;
- May, on occasion, be exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels, such as from office equipment, event audio sound equipment, etc.;
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer;
- Occasional prolonged periods of standing while traveling and attending conferences, trade shows, and various Move For Hunger events and meetings;
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and infrequently up to 50 pounds.
