This position is responsible for cleaning and maintaining assigned areas in a sanitary, safe and attractive manner in accordance with established Infection Control and Environmental Services (EVS) procedures as trained and directed by supervisor. This housekeeping position ensures the highest degree of cleanliness and sanitation is maintained at all times, while providing exceptional customer service.
Compensation: $12-$14.25/HR, based on experience.
Shift: 7 am - 3:30 pm, Monday - Friday
Responsibilities
• Follow cleaning schedules and procedures as directed by supervisor, including any areas assigned to.
• Follow all Infection Control Protocols when cleaning.
• Sweep, mop and vacuum all assigned areas.
• Cleaning “Top to Bottom” and double-checking work before leaving the area to ensure its left in a safe condition.
• Check and refill all paper towel and soap dispensers as necessary
• Follow soiled and clean laundry protocols
• Keep janitor closets and housekeeping supply rooms clean, orderly and secured.
• Participates in all trainings, meetings and in-services as requested.
• Submit maintenance request of general maintenance concerns or issues that are observed.
• Pack up patient belongings when being discharged home or to the hospital.
• Other job duties as assigned and appropriate for the position.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Licenses or other required certifications: None
Experience: At least one year experience preferred.
Specialized knowledge, skills, or abilities:
• Ability to operate all equipment used by EVS staff effectively and safely.
• Must be able to lift, carry and/or move equipment/supplies throughout assigned areas. Equipment could occasionally weigh up to 50 pounds.
• Must possess a high level of customer service and provide courteous and respectful communications with staff, families and residents.
• Must have good verbal and written communication.
• May be required to work evenings and weekends
