PACKAGING TECHNICIAN
A Food Manufacturing company is seeking Food Packaging Technicians. In this role you will learn to program the production machines, refill cup holders, breakdown boxes, sort product, perform quality checks etc. You will start out learning the manufacturing process and will do things like cleaning, opening boxes and containers for the production line and other production ... duties as required.
LOCATION: Garland, TX 75041
POSITION: Contract to Hire
SHIFT HOURS: 4:30pm to 1:00am May train on first shift then move to 2nd shift
PAY: $20.00 hr to start. $23.50hr when you convert full time. Weekly Pay

PACKAGING TECHNICIAN
• The Packaging Technician has the primary responsibility of product staging, machine set up, operating, cleaning, and sanitizing the filling machine.
• The operator will work in a team of 3-6 people who manage the filling and packaging of sour cream and cottage cheese to meet inventory and customer needs.
• The duties will include coordinating with the Processing team to make ready cultured product for packaging, machine operation, and packing cases while moving finished goods to the Replenishment team. Job requires frequent bending, lifting, and twisting.
• The Packaging Technician is required to package products per packaging requirements.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
• Set filling equipment up to allow for product introduction i.e., clean in place, sterilize, and product fill
• Material handling of packaging materials; cups, foil, shippers, etc.
• Entering material movement into inventory systems as appropriate
• Staging product and packaging supplies to meet daily production schedule
• Operate and troubleshoot state-of-the-art processing system through automated and manual controls - filling and packaging equipment including weight control
• Performing food safety and quality assurance protocols as designated by procedures
• Operate box forming and packing equipment
• Document and record production and quality information as necessary
• Work closely with maintenance to promote an environment of continuous improvement
• Execute timely machine preventative maintenance and repair as necessary
• Responsible for increasing machine efficiencies and reducing waste through ownership, teamwork, communication, and cross-departmental collaboration.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum requirement is a High School diploma or G.E.D
• 3 to 10 years Food Manufacturing background.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs
• No nicotine use - Must pass a Nicotine test upon full time hire with cleint.
• Able to Pass Drug Screen - a Hair Folical test.
• Strong mechanical aptitude; maintenance-related background preferred
• Attention to detail regarding machine operation, and outgoing package quality
