Digital Architect
Cognizant is looking for a dynamic architect with experience crafting and developing sophisticated software systems and applications. The individual will work with product owners, domain experts, and product managers to craft and deliver customer value. The role is encouraged to lead several software engineers in the delivery of custom cloud native applications. The individual ... in this role will ensure that standard methodologies are followed and that quality code is delivered. Location: Woonsocket, Rhode Island or Remote on USA.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
• Works with product owner and developers to groom product backlog
• Provides mentorship on continuous integration of development practices
• Develops API strategy for the overall application
• Helps drive Agile ceremonies including iteration planning, standups and retrospectives
• Develops cloud deployment model of application
• As needed, codes in a developer-pair as part of an Agile product-focused software development team
• Works with clients to understand reason for embracing cloud native approach to developing software
• Develops technology strategy for engagement
• Facilitates removal of client technical barriers to engagement success
• Ensures technical teamwork between pod teams
• Work with Product and UX teams to be part of a team of engineers in developing elegant code innovative customer experiences and build industry leading digital experiences
• Collaborate to drive solutions that would reduce cost and time to market
• Participate in Program Increment PI planning and establish communication across all team and Product Owners
• Participate in Agile Scrum team activities including Sprint Planning Grooming Daily Scrum Review and Retro
• Develop applications web services and cloud native apps using Microservices Java/J2EE REST API Spring Core Spring MVC Framework Spring Boot Framework Spring Security and other tech stacks Open source and proprietary
• Unit testing using framework such as Junit Mockito JBehave
• Build and deploy services using Gradle Maven Jenkins , CI CD process etc.
• Will be responsible for end-to-end application delivery including coordination with required teams for production deployment
• Continuously supervising application health and KPIs support triage of any production issues as and when needed
• Collaborate in solving sophisticated data features service platform issues and perform root cause analysis to proactively resolve product and operational issues
• Be an advocate of security standard methodologies champion and support the importance of security within engineering partnering with Digital and Enterprise security teams and digital product owners to ensure compliance.
Key Qualifications:
• Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Information Technology or related Engineering subjects
• 10+ years of proven work experience as a Software Engineer with sophisticated knowledge of application data and infrastructure architecture fields
• 8+ years of developing in modern programming languages Java
• 8+ years of experience in relational databases NoSQL or cloud datastores, Oracle DB, Microservices
• Experience with Angular Knowledge in Monitoring tools knowledge such as Splunk
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
• Experience working with Authentication & Authorization API Request- Response Architecture.
• Codes software components using JavaScript, Java, Spring Framework, relational databases and message queues
• Develops approaches to testing and writes unit tests using Junit or other test frameworks
• Crafts and maintains CI builds using Jenkins, Concourse or similar tool
• Experience in crafting and deploying cloud-native enterprise applications in public or private cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, OpenShift / K8s + Containerization)
• Experience with Serverless, Reginal Deployment, Self-Healing, Compute, Auto scaling, Storage, Gateway, API Management, Networking and Security Constructs.
• Deep understanding of microservices architecture concepts and how to implement them
• Strong understanding of required patterns (Microservices design: bounded context, event driven and operational isolation; 12 factor apps and principles; API design, management, and implementation.
• Demonstrated knowledge of network and security architectures.
• Proven knowledge of resilient design patterns- Redundancy, autoscaling, health checks, failover strategies, avoidance of cascading failures, operational isolation, etc.
• Data, data modeling and database management- Knowledge of various database technologies and use-cases (e.g., Relational, NoSQL, Graph, Caching Options, etc.)
• Understanding of regulatory concerns (e.g., HIPPA, GDPR, CCPA, PII, Nationalistic Isolation (NIST), etc.)
• Deep understanding of software programming fundamental concepts
• In-depth understanding of Domain Drive Design and 12-Factor applications
• Experience with continuous integration/deployment tools and standard methodologies in DevOps
• Has led Agile development teams
• Demonstrated project management leadership

Salary And Other Compensation:

The annual salary for this position is between $52,000 to $137,600 depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
