Looking for an experienced, high energy, detailed oriented Catering Manager to add to our growing catering department. The successful candidate will have a proven background in catering, events and/or restaurants and present exceptional customer service. The Catering Manager is responsible for the supervision and support in planning catering events of varying sizes and levels for deliveries ... pickups as well as onsite and offsite specialty events while ensuring that all of restaurant standards and initiatives are consistently achieved. The Catering Manager will report directly to the Catering Director.
Must have experience running, supporting offsite events. We manage multiple clients and a variety of events. This is a hands on position not a sit in the office type of job. Must be able to support small events to larger events with multiple team members. Events take place in the restaurants, in a small private room, in homes, outside and inside alternate local venues.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the organization and execution of all catering events and have demonstrated knowledge in the details associated with casual and fine dining and banquet management. Experience directing catering operations, implementing new offerings, culinary skills and working in a high pace/high volume environment are a plus. The Catering Manager will directly supervise catering operations including such duties as customer communications and support, coordination of staff and rental equipment, set-up, preparation, service, and break down of catered foods, beverages, and events of varying size and complexity.
Responsibilities:
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- • Manage direct catering phone line and walk in sales.
- • Booking events, plan menus including selecting and costing menu items, and pricing as needed, taking the opportunity to utilize suggestive selling techniques and reinforce our quality products and services.
- • Responsible for coordinating onsite and offsite catered events as assigned and communicating with front and back-of-the-house personnel to provide a dining experience that meets or exceeds guest expectations.
- • Prepares for and processes service of each event to ensure that all items are prepared properly and on a timely basis.
- • Assist with serving of meals and beverage creating a positive customer experience.
- • Properly set up event space to include but no limited to tables, chairs, linens, service-ware, and glassware.
- • Ensure that appropriate sanitation, organization, and safety standards are met through the use of checklists, hands-on supervision, and follow-up for all off site events.
- • Load and unload event equipment into catering vehicles, must be able to lift at least 50lbs.
- • Coordinate activities with other internal restaurant departments.
- • Attend and lead when instructed weekly catering event review meetings with kitchen staff.
- • Assist with the organization and cleanliness of catering storage unit.
- • Assist with inventory and maintain equipment of catering supplies.
- • Present a can-do attitude and help in the training of additional catering staff members.
- • Create long lasting relationships and Interface with vendors on as needed basis.
- • Keep Catering Director abreast of your progress through daily activity logs, phone calls and attending weekly meetings.
- • Maintain on-going contact with catering customers through thank you letters, follow-up calls, seeking feedback on catering orders and requesting referrals.
- • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions and making recommendations to management.
- • Assist with the building of catering sales through direct marketing and initiating contact with potential catering customers.

- Qualifications:
- • Display excellent customer service and maintain a well-groomed, neat appearance.
- • Must demonstrate enthusiasm and commitment to guest satisfaction.
- • 2-3 years demonstrated catering sales experience, preferably food and beverage environment, catering or hospitality environment and previous management experience a bonus.
- • Associates degree in relevant field preferred.
- • Must possess general knowledge of food and beverage and service procedures.
- • Ability to remember, recite, and promote a variety of menu items/prices.
- • Must have the ability to utilize good business ethics to exemplify the goals and values of our restaurant.
- • Must have solid business judgment and strong verbal and written communication skills.
- • Must have demonstrated capability to interface and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers of all levels and skill sets.
- • Must be detail oriented, logical, analytical and methodological in approach to problem solving.
- • Must be self-starter with proven sales track record.
- • Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and internet.
- • Knowledge of industry systems and software - Caterease.
- • Must be able to read and communicate in English clearly and effectively.
- • Must be able to communicate and understand the primary language(s) of clients, banquet staff and other employees.
- • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for long periods of time.
- • Must have the ability to bend, squat, and frequently lift up to 50lbs.
