The Opportunity:
Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale is looking for a talented and dynamic Catering Sales Manager who will be responsible for our Social and Corporate Market at the resort. This opportunity will have the ability to impact guests lives in such ways as to assist in creating the perfect Wedding, Birthday gathering, or other social events from intimate gatherings to large events. This role will also be responsible for making memorable Corporate events come to life on property in coordination with our Culinary and Banquet team.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
• Actively solicit new business and respond to inquiries with the intention of confirming profitable catering business and achieving Quarterly Sales Goals.
• Conduct property tours and entertain planners of meetings, social events, and weddings.
• Plan assigned groups with excellence in detailing food & beverage, resort services, reservations, and group movements.
• Coordinate the sales efforts between sales department and catering to insure proper utilization of function space to yield maximum revenues.
• Finalize the requirements of confirmed bookings while maximizing revenue potential through up selling and ensuring effective communication with all departments for the success of the event. Ensure accuracy of Banquet Checks and provide bill review on completion of program or event.
• Oversee the execution of banquet events. Ensure satisfaction of client at the outset of all events in tandem with Banquet and Culinary team.
• Work directly with clients throughout the duration of the planning process, ensuring all event details are planned accordingly
• Act as the liaison for all vendor/supplier related clients' needs, (i.e. Audio Visual, Florists, Entertainment, Transportation, DMC, Off-site Locations etc)
• Finalize the requirements of confirmed bookings while maximizing revenue potential through up-selling and ensuring effective communication, both written and in-person with all departments for the success of the event. Ensure accuracy of Banquet Checks and provide bill review on completion of program or event.
• Review all function space with banquet manager and when necessary head house attendant. Ensure satisfaction of client at the outset of all events.
• Plan and/or attend and/or participate in meetings with hotel staff and clients, including but not exclusive to: Morning Operations Briefing, Morning Special Events Briefing, Banquet Event Order Meeting, Monthly Board of Operations, Planning Visits, and Menu Tastings.
• Comply with Four Seasons standards for special events, while working harmoniously and professionally with co-workers and planning committee.
• Make timely and impromptu decisions, which balance client's needs with the financial, safety and staffing goals of the hotel.
• Find solutions to the inevitable challenges and glitches that arise while groups are on property and keep Director of Weddings and Special Events and Planning Committee promptly and fully informed of all problems or unusual matters so prompt corrective action can be taken where appropriate.
Who We Look For:
Ideal candidate will have:
• Positive and outgoing attitude
• College Education preferred.
• At least 3-5 years in a Catering Sales Manger or Assistant Banquet Manager role. Previous luxury hotel or resort experience preferred.
• Strong Sales and interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills required, both written and verbal (English is required).
• Excellent attention to detail.
• The ability to proactively solve problems and react to Event challenges on the go as they arise.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite with the ability to learn other proprietary computer applications as necessary.
