We are seeking a hardworking, self-motivated, team oriented, part time banquet houseman. The banquet houseman will work within the Catering Department to ensure that the delivery of the guest experience is executed at the highest level. The banquet houseman is responsible for the full setup and breakdown of all events held at the club both indoors and outdoors, works the event as the buffet food runner/busser during the event. The houseman is also responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of the facility and equipment, focusing on the proper procedure of storage of operating supplies, constant walk-throughs of space and through comprehension of the BEO for the event to ensure standards and venue setup.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Must be 18 to apply. Restaurant/Hospitality experience strongly preferred. Days and hours vary each week based on events. (April – December is busy!) Must have availability for mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays are required. Reliable Transportation is a must! (some shifts require early mornings and/or late evenings).
Duties:
The houseman is responsible for complete setup and breakdown of all events, following all specified banquet event order sheets, room floorplan/diagram. This will include but is not limited to tables, chairs, portable bars, umbrellas, tents, buffet equipment, linens, table setup, etc.
Other responsibilities include maintaining the cleanliness and organization of any banquet rooms, hallways, storage and service areas. Returning equipment to its proper location, clean and in good working order. Notifying supervisor of any issues with any equipment that needs to be repaired and/or replaced. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of banquet inventory, and supplies such as linens, chairs, china, glassware, flatware, and decorations. Set up, stock, and maintain work areas, storage areas and public space. Transport dirty linen to correct area to be cleaned, separating napkins from tablecloths. Maintain cleanliness of work areas throughout the day, practicing clean-as-you-go procedures. Assist other departments when needed to ensure optimum service to guests and members alike. Report to, communicates with, and works closely with the Catering Director and Management to ensure a high level of service and seamless event operations. During events the houseman will be responsible for maintaining buffet and food stations, running trays of food to and from the kitchen, assisting servers by removing full trays of used china/flatware/glassware to the kitchen dish washing area. Working as a team and effectively communicating with management and service staff in order to fulfill and address any issues or needs requested by guests and or other team members is paramount. Perform all other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor/manager.
Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time. Must be able to lift/carry/transport tables, chairs, china, buffet equipment to different locations within the clubhouse and on the grounds, such as the golf course and pool. Must be able to stretch, bend, crouch, and carry up to 50 lbs.
